Single beam interferometric angle measurement
نویسنده
چکیده
We present a new application of the Nomarski interferometer, to measure the angular position of a parallel laser beam with interfero-metric precision. In our experimental realization we reach a resolution of 3 × 10 −9 rad (6 × 10 −4 ′′) for 1 kHz bandwidth in a 2 × 10 −2 rad (1 •) range. This alternative to the optical lever technique features absolute calibration, independence of the sensitivity on the thermal drifts, and wide range of measurement at full accuracy.

Direct measurement of the skew angle of the Poynting vector in a helically phased beam.
We measure the local skew angle of the Poynting vector within a helically-phased, exp (il phi), beam using a Shack Hartmann wavefront sensor. It is the skew angle of the Poynting vector with respect to the beam axis that gives rise to the orbital angular momentum of a light beam. We confirm that this skew angle is l/kr, corresponding to an orbital angular momentum of l? per photon. Measurement ...

There are several techniques in use for non-linear refractive index measurement, namely, interferometric techniques, in which conventional inter-ferometers are used, degenerate for wave mixing (DFWM), and z-scan, Each of these techniques suffers from some shortcmings. For example conventional interferometers like Fabry-Perot and Twyman-Green need high quality optical components, unwanted refl...
متن کاملGeneration of Optical Vortex Arrays Using Single-Element Reversed-Wavefront Folding Interferometer
Optical vortex arrays have been generated using simple, novel, and stable reversed-wavefront folding interferometer. Two new interferometric configurations were used for generating a variety of optical vortex lattices. In the first interferometric configuration one cube beam splitter (CBS) was used in one arm of Mach-Zehnder interferometer for splitting and combining the collimated beam, and on...
